This is a message for Per, Per Per, Per, Peter - if he can hear me that is! An amazing man who turned problems to advantages. When in a tricky situation, his stutter and hardness of hearing could 'conveniently' get worse – I know it got him out of more than one tight scrape ;-) Yes, reading and writing was a bit of a challenge but, it was amazing how much he could take in when he wanted to, and also how much he could get Dorothy to do for him when he didn't. I called him 'Sweet Pea' once and the name stuck – he was always 'Sweet Pea' to me thereafter. A man of many talents (he could have taught Dell Boy a thing or two!), more than happy with his lot. He genuinely did believe he was the 'Luckiest Man In The World' and in so many ways, he was. However, luck is something you make, and boy did he work hard at it! He was an adventurer all his life and I know he was so proud and pleased of being able to travel with Dorothy by his side. He loved his time in Australia, Brazil and Sri Lanka. He also loved to drive (preferably his van) and did more miles in a year than most of us even get close to – Weymouth being the most usual destination. Wherever he went he 'grew' an ever wider network of family and friends. We were so pleased when he and Dorothy made it to France. Brother and Sisters, Kids, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and all other family, friends and neighbours – he had time for us all but mostly he had time, love and devotion for Dorothy. I am so pleased they were together for their 68th Wedding Anniversary and I know that they'll always be together somehow, somewhere. I'll miss you Sweet Pea! Sleep well.
