Socially distanced garden party

Created by Family 4 years ago

24th March Lockdown had begun. Ella and I drove up to London to clear her room at Goldsmiths Uni and on the way back we called Dad to say we were coming to have a front garden socially distanced catch up.
A stunningly warm sunny day. We arrived to see the wheelchair already out front. Dad got mum to come out front. Ella and I lay on the grass and tried to get mum to copy some leg exercises. Whatever did the neighbours think? Then a young man on a bike cycled past on the path, looked at mum, and quick as a flash mum said "Hey, I've pulled!"
Ella couldn't believe what she had just heard Nan say and nearly choked on her drink!
Ella and I sat on the grass near the road and chatted to mum. We opened our flask and dad went inside to make a cup of coffee for mum. Then dad went back inside to make himself a cup of tea. (He can only ever make one drink at a time . . . )
Ella took a "socially distanced selfie" of the four of us and then managed to send it to Nan's ipad for them to look at and keep. A totally, perfect in every way, front garden, tea party.

I need to find that selfie . . .
