Following on from his mispent youth in Brecon, running the rowing boats on the river with a side line of searching for golf balls that had found their way into the river and then selling them back to the golf club, Dad taught us all to row. If ever there was a rowing boat to be hired then Dad would hire one and we would take it in turns to crash into the overhanging branches and narrowly avoid other boats. 

We all loved it, and then the Grandchildren, and then our partners and then the Sri Lankan family.

Mum would always sit on the bank and wait, she was never tempted!
